Strengthening parish operations with clarity, discipline, and care.

Advisory and consulting services for pastors and leadership in Catholic parishes, grounded in lived parish operations experience.

I understand parish operations because I’ve lived them.

I have held the role of business manager for a large parish and still navigate the realities pastors and staff face every day: limited resources, paper-based processes, competing priorities, and constant pastoral demands.

My experience includes:

  • monthly accounting and reporting,

  • supervising weekend cash counts,

  • serving as a local Safe Environment Coordinator,

  • advising the finance council, and

  • working in regular cadence with the pastor on financial oversight and operational decisions.

This work is informed by what actually happens inside a parish office - not by theory or outside assumptions.

How I work with pastors

The pastor is the decision-maker. My role is to support that responsibility with clear information, sound systems, and disciplined processes.

I work collaboratively with parish staff and councils. I do not undermine authority, bypass leadership, or introduce change without alignment.

My goal is to bring order and sustainability to parish operations while respecting pastoral priorities and parish culture.

A note on readiness

Effective work requires a baseline level of readiness. This includes access to records, cooperation from leadership and staff, and a willingness to move away from ad-hoc, paper-based processes where appropriate.

Parishes that are not prepared to engage constructively or follow agreed-upon processes may not be a good fit.

I am selective in the engagements I accept to ensure the work is productive, respectful, and sustainable for everyone involved.

What I bring to parish operations

My work focuses on reducing friction inside the parish office while strengthening clarity, accountability, and trust.

  • Regular working cadence with the pastor to reduce surprises and support decision-making

  • Office build-out support, including role definition and hiring support when appropriate

  • Analyzing and vetting software vendors to optimize technologies used in parish offices

  • Bridging data from financial systems (accounting, payroll, giving portals) that support transparency for pastors and finance councils

  • Process design that reduces manual burden on staff and volunteers

  • Optional operational optimization using tools Google Workspace and Zapier to streamline:

    • Baptism and sacramental request intake

    • Volunteer-to-office coordination

    • Expense reimbursement workflows

    • Parishioner-to-office communication

These changes improve responsiveness and allow parish staff to focus on ministry rather than administration.

Parish Advisory Services

Advisory services focus on interpretation, oversight, and guidance for pastors and parish leadership.

  • Financial interpretation and explanation for pastoral decision-making

  • Budget and reporting review

  • Finance Council preparation and support

  • Governance, controls, and transparency guidance

Advisory services focus on judgment and guidance, not day-to-day execution.

Parish Consulting Services

Consulting services address systems, workflows, and execution through clearly scoped engagements.

  • Accounting clean-up and process stabilization

  • Office workflow redesign

  • Cash handling and internal control implementation

  • Technology and automation setup (when appropriate)

  • Transition support during staffing changes

Consulting engagements are scoped, time-bound, and agreed upon in advance.

How it works

  • A brief call to understand parish context, leadership structure, and readiness. Not all inquiries move forward.

  • A structured review of financial and operational context to determine scope and fit.

  • Engagements begin with a defined minimum scoping period and proceed only after scope, expectations, and boundaries are agreed upon.

Request a Discovery Call

Requests are reviewed to determine fit, scope, and readiness for paid advisory work.
